THIS SHABBAT

We have the pleasure of welcoming Professor Oren Kosansky to our congregation to speak on the topic of Sephardic life in Morocco. Dr. Kosansky is a professor at Lewis & Clark College and has published numerous articles on the topic of Moroccan Jewry.

Oren has his own affinities with our community both by virtue of his Moroccan connections and his own Rhodeslie background
.

We will also have an educational program for the children during Professor Kosansky's talk.

A fabulous Sephardic lunch prepared by Renee Ferrera and Charles Levy will follow.

Join us on Wednesday nights for a class on
Sephardic traditions and customs.

We will discuss aspects of Teffilah (prayer) from a Sephardic perspective.

We will discuss the differences between Sephardic and Ashkenazic practice as it applies to our daily as well as Shabbat prayers. There are many details that encompass these important mitzvot which we will explore in order to appreciate and enhance our personal prayers.

The class will take place at Ahavath Achim in the Sanctuary.

Looking Forward to Seeing You There!
